NRG Associates

NRG Associates was started May 1, 1979 by Ty Gillies. Ty's background included sales management with Formica Corporation and WilsonArt as well as sales of postformed tops with Glamourtop and casework sales with John F. Browning Company in Philadelphia, PA. Ty's wife, Nancy, became the heart of NRG as office manager shortly after opening. NRG was es... tablished to provide supplies to the woodworking industry but the first few years proved difficult as good lines were hard to find. Eventually, Alan Baer, the owner of Baer Supply Co., contracted with NRG to represent his company in the Philadelphia area. It worked well for both parties and soon NRG began to attract more quality lines. Ty's son, Clark, began selling for NRG around this time and continued to help build the business for 15 years until moving to Florida to pursue other opportunities. As quality product lines were added NRG grew nicely and in July 2000 Larry Roemer began working in sales. Larry's background includes years of sales and management experience for 84 Lumber and related companies. He covers the Mid-Atlantic States as well as southern Pennsylvania. Larry has taken over NRG as owner and has brought on Jeff and Kelly Pitcher to help with sales in the New York / New Jersey metro area. Jeff's background includes many years as vice president of CP Industries, a wood adhesives manufacturer. Kelly will support Jeff and Larry as office manager for the New Jersey location.
