In our first year of operation, the firm was nominated by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to be the Small Business Administration's Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year. This competitive national award program is given to small businesses who have clearly distinguished themselves with respect to providing superior products and services. Similarly, our staff members have earned numerous awards and accolades for their technical accomplishments and service to our client base. Nova scientists and engineers have been recognized for their technical achievements through the receipt of the prestigious NRL Berman award, the highest honor in basic and applied research fields awarded by NRL. Our senior personnel have served on the editorial boards of many refereed scientific journals and industry publications. Our research generates publications which are accepted to the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals in their field of study. As an example, Nova received the Award for the "Most Original Contribution" out of more than 1,000 submissions at the 10th World Congress on Biosensors in 2008.
