Join to sharpen your leadership; to effectively Young leaders at UNC-Chapel Hill used the Nourish platform to stand in solidarity with the "Boycott UNC" movement, a boycott of UNC dining services organized by students of color calling for the remo... val of "Silent Sam", a statue with direct ties to white supremacy & slavery. They harnessed the Nourish social enterprise model to provide over 3,500 affordable, alternative meals to students from local, family-owned vendors & donated all revenue to UNC's recently de-funded Center for Civil Rights. These young leaders employed resources, skills, & ingenuity to meet a social need & serve their community. Nourish prepares young people to navigate the complex challenges of being a social impact leader. The Nourish program delivers a learning experience through teamwork, personalized feedback, coaching, curated readings/ resources, & project delivery. Our leaders: We focus on three capacities of leadership development: Through mixed-income models, Nourish teams of have earned & invested over $800k into community-based initiatives. And 92% of alumni report that the program had a significant or life-changing impact on their personal & professional lives. Our staff, alumni, & supporters provide one-on-one coaching. We're able to pa attention to our young leaders & the work they create. Relationships are the primary context of existence. Our community, staff, alumni, & supporters facilitate in-person & online "Nourish Circles" which are regular topic-based conversations.
