Norwest Ingredients was born from Terry Cochrans vision in the early 1980s to expand beyond the familys farm, Jet Farms, Inc., and become a mint oil processor and distributor. After nearly 20 years of marketing and developing quality control and processing procedures, Norwest Ingredients was founded by brothers Terry and Jeffrey Cochran in 1998. Te... rry and Jeff bring unique and valuable knowledge to the business through their lifelong experience in mint oil production with Jet Farms, Inc., also family owned and operated. The familys history in mint began in 1965 when Edgar Cochran (father) began growing Peppermint and Spearmint, and later invented and patented the first mechanical mint planter in 1967. President, Terry Cochran, graduated from East Washington University with a degree in business administration, and has extensive knowledge of mint oil production, processing, analytical and sensory analysis. Terry maintains hands-on management. Vice-President Jeffrey Cochran shares a vast knowledge of mint oil production, processing, and operation management, and manages mint oil producer Jet Farms.
