Marintek Group was founded in 1989 and has been active in boatbuilding since 1997. Northstar brand was created in 2002 and production of RIBs and boats has started the same year. 2008 onwards Northstar has become a RIBs only brand and is currently manufactured in Izmir, Turkey in its dedicated facility. Northstar is organized into two business unit... s of Recreational Products and Special Products. Recreational Products Business unit designs and manufactures a very wide range of RIBs starting from a 3.1m tender all the way to a 12m High Performance RIB. Special Products Business Unit on the other hand is active in designing and building RIBs up to 12.5m for professional and military use. Both business units have their own engineering and design staff. Our design and engineering teams consist of 4 Naval Architects, 1 Industrial Engineer, and 2 Industrial Designers. We also closely collaborate with world renowned hull designers, such as Adam Younger. All of the development and tooling work is done in house. Northstar uses almost all of the modern composite techniques in the manufacturing of its GRP parts and also produces its tubes with CSM (ex Hypalon) coated fabrics and can also use PU fabrics on demand. Northstar RIBs are sold in many countries through a network of distributors and dealers.
