Mr. Taube has personally instructed thousands of individual and classroom students of all ages, skill levels, and musical tastes. He has taught and co-developed the Schmitt Music Group Guitar Program, one of the largest and most unique consumer retail education programs anywhere. As a respected teacher since 1971, Rick has also composed, performed, recorded, and studied music for years and is knowledgeable in almost every aspect of the guitar and banjo. Rick Taubes academic background includes undergraduate work at MacPhail Center for the Arts, Associate of Arts Degree Metropolitan Community College, University of Minnesota, and Metropolitan State University where he received his BA degree. In the spring of 1996, Rick opened the NORTHERN PINE SCHOOL OF GUITAR & BANJO. He has also authored THE GUITAR STAFFGRAPH, a unique guitar reference tool which received notice in Guitar Player Magazine. As a teacher, Rick Taube has modernized and refined the very art of giving a music lesson with innovative techniques and sound enhancing devices.
