About Northampton Speakers

Northampton Speakers was founded in 2014, and is committed to helping people develop communication skills and self confidence through public speaking. As a member, you will learn how to: Overcome the initial nervousness everyone feels when called to speak before an audience. Organise and present your ideas logically and convincingly. Improve your ability to listen to other people's ideas and evaluate them. Develop self-confidence that will radiate in every situation involving other people. The club is a part of Toastmasters International , an international public speaking organisation with nearly 300 clubs across the UK and Ireland. The Toastmasters educational programme includes both communication and leadership tracks, and are designed to allow everyone to start at their own level and progress at their own pace. To practice before giving a speech at a wedding. To learn a new skill. Membership is open to everyone aged 18 and over, and you don't need any prior experience. When you first join the club you will gain access to the Toastmasters International Pathways programme, providing a variety of customised educational paths that you can select depending on your own goals. Other benefits of membership include: Membership of Toastmasters International and the opportunity to visit any of the clubs in the UK and Ireland and around the world. A monthly copy of Toastmaster magazine, with tips, information, ideas and news. The opportunity to compete in speech contests up to a national and international level.
