Nord Stream AG is an international consortium based in Zug, Switzerland, formed in 2005 for the planning, construction, and operation of two natural gas pipelines through the Baltic Sea. The consortium includes major companies such as Gazprom, Wintershall Dea GmbH, PEG Infrastruktur AG, N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, and ENGIE, ensuring advanced technology and safety standards. The operational pipelines, which began functioning in 2011 and 2012, have a combined capacity to transport 55 bcm of gas annually, sufficient to meet the energy needs of over 26 million European households.
