Nora Isaacs

Nora specializes in packaging special sections, working with beginning writers, conceptualizing new departments, and turning mediocre copy into great writing. As an editor at several consumer magazines, Nora has learned to communicate clearly with writers; guide stories from inception to finished manuscript; work skillfully with stories at all edit... stages; generate story ideas and recognize great pitches; edit both short pieces and full-length features; write cover lines, heds, and deks; work closely with designers; and mentor new writers. During her last staff position, as part of a redesign Nora helped transform the front-of-the-book into a lively and fresh lifestyle department. She also conceived and implemented a new 8-page feature that appears in each issue. Currently, Nora is a contributing editor at Yoga Journal, Natural Solutions, Fit Yoga, and Diablo. She also works as a developmental editor on book proposals and full lengths books.
