He is known as a behind-the-scenes man who meticulously double-checks titles and operations, overseeing long-term projects, and committing himself to the well-being of those he serves. He worked as an independent operator of oil and gas properties in Texas, Montana and Alberta, Canada. As an independent Landman, he served major and large independent oil and gas companies, acquiring oil and gas leases, State and Provincial (Canada) leases, permits for 3-D seismic, preparing title runsheets, preparing lease checks, obtaining title curative materials, settling surface damages, negotiating and preparing operating agreements, executing farmout and farmins, and preparing division of interests and joint interest billings.
