Nicholas Music Studio

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas met at Grove City College in Western PA, where they both graduated with Bachelors degrees in Music Education. After graduation and marriage they received teaching jobs in Anne Arundel County and began sharing their love of music with students of all ages. They opened the Nicholas Music Studio in order to work more in-depth and... one-on-one with students who might be looking for a challenge on their instrument or are looking to try something new. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas motivate and encourage students in their responsibility to practice and develop their musical skills. While studying with Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas, students can be expected to learn a wide range of musical terms and concepts. Mr. Nicholas has a specialty in woodwind instruments, having majored on the saxophone while also playing the clarinet for many years. While in college Mr. Nicholas was involved in numerous ensembles ranging from marching band, jazz ensemble, jazz combo, concert band, and more. He is currently teaching Elementary Band to 4th and 5th graders in the Crofton area and has begun the first elementary Jazz Ensemble in the county. His ensembles have been declared some of the best Anne Arundel County has to offer and many of his students enter into the PVA program. Mr. Nicholas connects with his students through his humor, creating a friendly environment for learning. Singing, choirs, and musicals have been a part of Mrs. Nicholas's life before she can even remember. She started taking serious vocal lessons while in middle school from an accomplished international opera singer who impacted her life greatly. She began taking piano lessons from her mother in 2nd grade and then from a professional pianist once it became apparent that she would pursue a career in music. While in college Mrs. Nicholas continued to study voice and piano (with a focus on voice) and joined a selective group of traveling singers called Touring Choir.
