Two new virtual reality experiences from the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) will be featured in the 2022 Tribeca Festival Immersive program (June 10–19, 2022). Plastisapiens , written and directed by Miri Chekhanovich and Édith Jorisch, and created by Dpt., will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. Plastisapiens is produced in Montreal by Dpt., the NFB and Israel's Lalibela Productions. In addition, the in-person installation premiere of This Is Not a Cer...The NFB at the 2022 Sommets du cinéma d'animation. Montreal festival to include world premieres of Lynn Smith's What Rhymes with Toxic and a short from Lori Malépart-Traversy's Caresses magiques (Magical Caresses) series.
The NFB will be part of the 20th Sommets du cinéma d'animation, taking place in Montreal from May 10 to 15, 2022, with eight of its short films screening at the festival. The strong, diverse selection includes two world premieres : Caresses magiques – Masturbation: la petite histoire d'un grand tabou ( Magical Caresses – Masturbation: A Short History of a Great Taboo ), directed by Lori Malépart-Traversy, and What Rhymes with Toxic ,Three NFB docs featured at DOXA 2022. The DOXA Documentary Film Festival will feature three moving National Film Board of Canada (NFB) profiles of love and dedication, as the festival presents two short docs by Alanis Obomsawin and a feature by Jeremiah Hayes.
