New Canaan Softball

Thank you so much for making this fundraising project such a huge success! The sugar maple trees alongside 1st and 3rd base and behind the home plate backstop have been planted! The right field apple orchard will be planted in the next few weeks as we wait for the trees to arrive. A special thank you to softball parent and coach Brian Granskog and... his landscaping company Exterior Living for donating his time, equipment and expertise in getting this project completed in partnership with the Town of New Canaan Parks and Recreation department. On October 17, 2020 New Canaan park officials voted 11-0 to support New Canaan Softballs proposal to plant new trees by Orchard Field at Waveny Park. After the loss of an iconic tree behind the backstop earlier this year, NC Softball raised funds to replace the tree with 3 new trees around the backstop and sideline bleachers.
