Neiderer Sanitation LLC is a locally owned and operated family business, servicing Adams and Western York County since 1953. We believe in preserving as much of our natural resources as possible and being a responsible corporate citizen to our environment. Despite slightly higher disposal costs than landfills, we feel this is the most responsible way to dispose of trash. The incinerator, which is owned by the York County Solid Waste and Refuse Authority, is a waste-to-energy facility. The electricity produced by the incinerator is sold to Met-Ed. The York County facility produces enough electricity to power 20,000 homes, and saves approximately 13 acres of landfill space a year. Emissions are monitored and linked 24 hours a day with the DEP. Please don't misunderstand our intent. It is necessary to utilize lanfills to dispose of non-processable waste collected through other services we offer, BUT we are committed to diverting processable waste from landfills in order to preserve that space for materials that cannot be processed by other means.Read More
