Much has changed since May 9, 1892 when we opened our doors in a room at the corner of Chestnut Street and Great Plain Avenue in what was then a small town of about 2,000 residents many of whom worked in manufacturing. From the earliest days our reputation was built on personalized servic... e and deep community involvement. Our commitment remains unchanged in stark contrast to the globalization and regionalization of the larger banks. We believe in and support the buy local movement because buying local means banking local and in the opinion of many, that is what is in the best interest of the communities we are so proud to serve. Needham Bank has grown to become a diversified $1.5 billion bank due in part to mergers with The Medfield Cooperative Bank in 1965 and with Dedham Cooperative Bank in 2007. Our growth has been impressive and fueled the opening of our Westwood Office in 1975 and our Wellesley Office in 1978. We recently completed the addition of a 7500sf loan center to our Main Office to help accommodate our residential and commercial lending activities.
