The design of the tools allows their use for the detection and quantitative sizing of metal loss as well as for crack detection and sizing. Optionally, both tasks can be performed in combination. The use of ultrasound enables direct wall thickness measurement. In addition to the detection and sizing of internal and external metal loss features, ultrasound enables the inspection for laminations, inclusions, narrow axially extended corrosion as well as features in the heat affected zone and the weld zone. Inspection capabilities for cracks include the reliable detection of fatigue cracks, stress corrosion cracking and cracks in the long seam weld. The technologies offered for pipeline inspection also include magnetic flux leakage tools, caliper and mapping tools. NDT Services can optionally also provide cleaning services.
