Nationwide Inventory Services

The company was founded in 1967 by Roland Phipps and Lewis DiComacous as Easy Inventory. At this time, they both worked full time and did inventories on the weekends. The business grew and in 1977, Roland purchased Lewis' half of the business. At that time, the name was changed to E.Z. Inventory. With the growth of the business, Roland had to leave... his full-time job and take care of his expanding business. With the addition of PIPP return service to the business, expansion continued to increase. It soon became impossible for Roland and his wife Renee to handle all of the office work that came with the growth. They began to hire personnel, ending up with 10 full-time and over 100 part-time employees, 3 cargo trucks, and a warehouse to store all of the PIPP returns until they were delivered to the Ford warehouse. In the late 80s and early 90s, the PIPP returns began to phase out and the office staff was downsized. The trucks were sold and the warehouse was no longer needed, but the inventory side of the business was still very strong. In 1996, Roland decided he would like to sell the business. Barbara Trupia, a long-time employee of over 15 years, expressed a very strong interest in purchasing the business from Roland and did so. It then became East Coast Inventory, Inc. With the help of Roland, the business remained strong. In 1999, Barbara began a very long and difficult battle with cancer. In 2004, she decided that she could no longer give the business the attention required and decided to sell. Two long-time employees of 18 and 16 years expressed interest in purchasing the business and did so. Under the co-ownership of Vernon Lam, the business name was changed to East Coast Dealer Services, Inc. The business is continuing to grow as Nationwide Inventory Services, Inc. at a very fast pace.
