September 2, 2019 was a devastating day for the Bahamas when the stron... gest hurricane recorded in modern history, leaving destruction and debris in its path. Category 5 hurricane Dorian hit the northern island, Grand Bahamas with 185mph winds and a 23ft storm surge. It swallowed up homes, cars, police stations, churches and medical facilities. Outside the city of Freeport the small town of High Rock was obliterated. Nearly every structure was destroyed and High Rock survivors were cut off for days without food or water. In March of 2021 Nationwide Construction was pleased to be apart of the long awaited restoration efforts. It began with a tent clinics and a container pod donated by the International Medical Corp. NCI then work closely with Direct Relief and Build Health International to set up a medical facility.
