Paul Carter, Web Developer and Pam Smith, Genealogist, identified the need for a database robust enough to cope with the manipulation of historical data in varying formats for their local history research projects. Combining their skills in software development, family history, genealogy and local history plus many years of experience, led to the creation of a dream database fit for any queen, lord of the manor or serf. Empathy, knowledge and an appreciation of what is required to run a successful study formed the solid foundation upon which this unique application was built, along with the designers wish to enable other researchers to better achieve their goal.
