This website is maintained by MPA The Concrete Centre on behalf of the Sustainable Concrete Forum and is supported by the UK Concrete Industry and the representative trade associations and companies who have signed up to the Concrete Industry Sustainable Construction Strategy . This strategy includes the commitment to continual improvement, measure... ment and reporting of the performance data for the industry. Our vision is that the UK concrete industry will be recognised as a leader in sustainable construction by taking a dynamic role in delivering a sustainable, low carbon built environment in a socially, environmentally and economically responsible manner. The concrete industry represents nine production sectors that together provide ready-mixed concrete, precast concrete and on-site batch plants. In 2008, when the strategy was launched, the UK concrete industry produced 102 million tonnes of concrete, playing a vital role in the construction of our built environment. The Sustainable Concrete Forum is a group of concrete industry trade associations and companies who have signed up to the Concrete Industry Sustainable Construction Strategy. The Construction Products Association has a sustainability website that explores the sustainability challenge for construction. MPA The Concrete Centre provides design guidance for the use of concrete and masonry. This includes information on sustainable concrete and its use to create sustainable homes and buildings. www.sustainableconcrete.org.uk is managed by The Concrete Centre.
