Movement Magazine is a unique phenomenon. Envisioned and first published in May of 1992 by multi media guru Max Michaels. Movement Magazine has been on the forefront of the underground scene and a vehicle for free expression and creativity in Jacksonville for well over a decade. F... rom the onset of the "alternative" and dance culture movements of the early 90's the magazine has been there to report on it first - from a street level perspective. Movement Magazine is a collaboration of reader and correspondents who both submit words and art to fill our pages. Artists of all walks of life continually help redefine the look and feel of the magazine, simultaneously bringing a new style and edge to the forefront of the progressive underground culture of Jacksonville. Movement Magazine is a free publication. All revenue collected from our sponsors goes to the magazines printing costs so that in print and on the web, our readers will never have to pay to read our interviews with local and world renowned musicians, get local club listing and club maps, find the location of a hip art gallery, or read one of the magazines ongoing sagas in our fiction section. Movement Magazine attracts a broad readership base, from 18 years and up. Many find the humor, style and honest candor of the magazine a refreshing change from the other more sterile "alternatives." MOVEMENT has a well proven dedication to the local scene through our print endeavors but also produce the now legendary club night Saturday Night Seduction and the Dark Alternative night FACTORY.
