Mountain Water Company Since 1979, the people of Mountain Water Company have been dedicated to providing quality water and dependable service at a reasonable price to our customers in the Missoula Valley. With 37 wells, 45 boosters, 24 storage facilities and a storage capacity of approximately 9,344,000 gallons, we're proud to serve over 24,000 hou... seholds in the Missoula community. Our mission to start the Kick the Bottle, Hit the Tap! campaign began early in 2008. We are fortunate in Missoula (and most of the U.S.) to have clean, fresh water sources every time we turn on the tap. We want to encourage citizens in all of our communities to consider the consequences of over-using disposable plastic water bottles. The Hit the Tap Campaign hopes that by providing safe, high-quality stainless steel bottles at an affordable price, that we may encourage a more environmentally friendly means of water consumption. Missoula Parks & Recreation and Missoula Eat Smart Coalition Eat Smart is part of Missoula's public health initiative focusing on decreasing the prevalence of obesity and improving the health of Missoula residents through community interventions including population based education, partnerships, policy and environmental changes. Eat Smart's mission is to improve the food and beverage choices made by Missoula residents. In partnership with Mountain Water Company and the Missoula Parks and Recreation department, two new Hit the Tap all-season water fountains were installed on the riverfront trail system.
