As an affiliate of RESORTS OF DISTINCTION and ADVENTURE OUTDOOR RESORTS, Mountain Lakes routinely hosts visiting members from hundreds of other private resorts affiliated with these reciprocal programs. Likewise, Mountain Lakes members who maintain membership in Resorts of Distinction (ROD) and/or Adventure Outdoor Resorts (AOR) are hosted by the other affiliate resorts scattered throughout the US and spilling over into Canada and Mexico. Mountain Lakes Resort is located on the Tennessee River's 68,000 acre Guntersville Lake. The lake is noted for its speedboat races, fishing tournaments and other water sports. Only seven miles away is the Guntersville State Park Lodge and Convention Center and 18 hole golf course. The Huntsville Space Center, Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga's famous aquarium, Cathedral Caverns, and numerous other popular attractions are within easy driving distance.
