The Floyd's Insurance group of companies began in 1936 with an independent insurance agency in Whiteville, North Carolina. It was founded by William (Bill) Floyd and shared space with a fertilizer store on downtown Madison Street. It grew steadily, and in early 1967 an in-house premium finance company was formed to offer a payment plan to the agenc... y's customers. In 1988, the company began forming affiliated subsidiary premium finance companies, each doing business with a single outside agency or group of agencies. In 1995, these smaller companies were consolidated into the largest - Monthly Payment Plan, Inc. Since then, Monthly Payment Plan has financed almost a billion dollars in insurance premiums. We currently service hundreds of diverse agencies. MPP finances both personal and commercial insurance and makes several thousand new loans each month.
