Modern D-Signs was founded in 1976 by Kurt and Beverly Kummer. Beginning as a small business selling novelty t-shirts, part time at racing events, the company grew quickly, becoming a full time endeavor. With Kurt's knowledge of offset printing from his family's offset printing company (Bradfield Printing Company, Helena, AR), it was only natural t... o move from buying heat transfers from other suppliers to printing their own. With the acquisition of the new equipment in 1977, Modern D-Signs was established as a screen printing company as well as a drag racing souvenir company. In 1981, Modern D-Signs and the Kummers moved from Arkansas to Bristol, TN, and have remained their ever since. From the days of producing 1 to 5 colors on a manual t-shirt printer in the corner of the family printing company, to the 6,250 sq. ft. building and the state of the art computer controlled, 14 color, automatic t-shirt printer, the one thing that has never changed is the demand for producing quality products at a fair price. It is our goal to bring our customers the finest printed products available, using the latest industry ideas and technology, in a timely manner. Our philosophy has remained the same as we have expanded our offerings to customers.
