Mobile Arc

Mobile Arc was established in 1956 to respond to the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide services to over 400 people in Mobile County. Services are provided through Day programs at two locations, Employment Services at one location and residential programs at six homes. Mobile Arc is a member of the Arc of A... labama, the Arc of the United States, and is a United Way of Southwest Alabama agency. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the same rights and protections afforded all citizens. Because of their disability, we accept the responsibility to assist them in exercising these rights so they may achieve the quality of life enjoyed by all. Mobile Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing services and building relationships that encourage inclusion, participation, and engagement in the community. Society benefits from the contributions of people with diverse personal characteristics. People with disabilities belong in the community and have the right to be fully included and to participate actively in all aspects of society. Employment is the first priority and preferred outcome of people with disabilities. People are defined by their strengths, abilities and inherent value. People are entitled to the respect, dignity, equality, safety and security and are equal before the law. People with disabilities receive the supports they need to make decisions about their own lives and must be heard on issues that affect their well-being.
