As I child I always loved the guitar, but like many I coul... dn't play. It was too hard and the guitar never sounded right. As I go older and perused this passion, I found out that it wasn't really me, it was the guitar. I know, blame in the guitar, sounds stupid. Well if you've ever tried a higher end guitar, you'd understand that the instrument makes all the difference in the world. A $ 2500 Taylor sings like the voice of an angel, the sound seems to resinate forever. A cheap $100 guitar (any brand) will sound like a muffled muddy mess. Cheap guitars are hard to play, strings to high, hard to keep in tune which all leads to poor sound. If you know what to look for, you can find a great sounding affordable guitar that will keep you interested in playing. Many people think it is better to start out with a cheap guitar and get a better one later, no no, bad idea. I suggest a good used/re manufactured or factory 2nd guitar, such as what we sell. Buying from a private seller may be risky though. You really don't know how the guitar has been kept. It may have been stored improperly in high or low humidity, pet or smoke filled environment, too hot, too cold, etc. Mint Strings' goal is to do is supply high quality but affordable guitars. I love a bargain, but when it comes to guitars, cheaper in almost never better. I have tested hundreds over the years, and hands down, the more expensive, the better. But keep in mind, at a certain point, you may be paying for a signature, or custom series guitar. These are high quality and also high price tag guitars. That may be money, let's say not well spent.
