System Dynamics Methodology: MindWalk Consulting uses the system dynamics methodology. System dynamics was developed in the mid 1950's by Jay W. Forrester at MIT. This methodology applies the engineering principles of control theory and feedback analysis to managerial, social, and economic problems. The system dynamics methodology is a powerful tool for today's managers and policy analysts in that it allows for the integration of quantitative information, qualitative information, and the mental models that experts in your organization use to make day to day decisions. Information from these three sources is used to develop a computer model that emphasizes feedback and circular causality. The computer model serves as a laboratory for testing the impacts of different policies and solutions.
