Keyla Guardado is a teacher by heart and trade! With both a bachelors and masters in childhood education and over 8 years of experience working with children, she has helped many students achieve not only academic success but also mindfulness that extends beyond the classroom. Keyla has trained with Little Flower Yoga, a yoga and mindfulness program based out of New York and Yoga Ed., a pioneer in changing education through the practice of yoga. She is a Yoga Alliance certified RYS 200 Adult Yoga Instructor and has also done extensive coursework in Womens Embodiment, Trauma Resolution and Energy Mindset which have helped her propel the mindfulness program for teachers and families today. During her years as a school teacher in East Harlem she was impacted by her students need for something other than learning division. So, she began to help students, parents and colleagues integrate mindfulness practices to reinforce their own strength as a community. She noticed better stress management, independent emotional regulation, longer and more engaged concentration and overall self-confidence within her students. From this this work with the kids in East Harlem, Mindful Moon Movement was born.
