Mimbrez Publishers is a privately owned for-profit publishing house dedicated to producing quality books while giving back to charity. Our goal is to publish books on credible political, cultural, health, economic, and spiritual issues. A part of each web-based sale will be donated to an approved non-profit organization that serves the unique issue... or cause addressed by the Mimbrez book. The Xeroderma Pigmentosum Society ("XP Society") is currently the approved charity to which donations can be made when purchases of "The Morning Tree" are made from this website. The main character of the novel, a centurion named "Ras", has this rare genetic disease, which causes one to be extremely sensitive to sunlight and have a tendency to develop skin damage. We believe more attention and funding should be provided to those seeking a cure for XP. The XP Society furthers those goals and also facilitates a summer program each year at the "Camp Sundown" in Crayville, New York. The XP Society is currently the only approved Mimbrez charity. An organization may be "approved" to receive donations by sending a written requests to charity@mimbrez.com . Each request should provide: a) the name and title of the person requesting the approval, b) a description of the organization requesting approval, c) a description its committed and efforts to peace through non-violence, d) a link to the web-site of the requesting organization, e) and a specific request to be added to the list of approved charities.
