In the late 1970's, Dick Bass and Ken Milton started Bass & Milton Construction Company. Bass & Milton built custom homes for over 30 years and developed a first-class reputation as one of the best home builders in the area. In 2010, Ken Milton's son, Todd, started Milton Construction Company. For the last three years, Milton Construction has been voted the area's Best Home Builder by the readers of the Time-Virginian - largely owing to the long lasting reputation developed by Bass & Milton.
