Welcome to Millwright & Machinery Erectors Local Union 740 website. First and foremost, our commitment is to our membership. To serve them, protect their wage and benefits, to enforce our collective bargaining agreement and to ensure their safety on the job sites. Our local has a long standing history of being part of many projects in New York City and its surrounding areas. Millwright Local 740 was chartered in 1911, which makes us one of the oldest building trades union in New York City. We have a highly skilled membership in all different aspects of the trade. Our apprentices finish school with all the requirements needed in the field to service our industry as safe, reliable, productive Millwright journeymen. It does not stop there. We also have a long list of classes available to our members to keep their skills sharp. With our Labor Technical College in New York City and our UBC International Training Center in Las Vegas, our training is second to none.
