Mike van Roon is a local artist and maker located in Bancroft, Ontario Being quite familiar with the Bancroft area during my childhood, my family and I made the move from the Kitchener-Waterloo region. Wow. Ive finally made it to Bancroft. The place we used to stop as a kid on the way to go camping. The place we wanted to go to when I married my be... autiful wife -as there were family and friends waiting here for me. A place where you can quiet your mind and focus on living. A place to call home. Although I work in town, I still have time to kick back and do some drawing, painting, or wherever creativity takes me. Bancroft has a way of calming me like no other place can. I love to create and innovate. From Pen & Ink, digital art, photography, writing, web sites, leather craft, and as of late forging! Im happiest when my hands are busy and my brain is stimulated. Im a tinkerer at heart. My interests are many, but balanced enough to put aside what im doing to share some time with others. On that note, ill leave you with ten random points that sums me up pretty well: Be comfortable with who you are. You can be the fuzziest peach in the orchard, and youre bound to meet someone who doesnt like peaches. Be yourself. Trust yourself. Try to see the positive in every situation even if you cant understand it in the moment. Be patient. At some point, someone was patient with you. Repay that debt in their memory. If its important enough, youll find a way, but dont sacrifice who you are in the process. Be decisive. If its wrong, be decisive about being wrong and own it. Live in the moment. You dont need a phone to record, or text it to a friend. If its shiny, you may just need it. Thanks for checking out my artwork!
