Mig's World Wines

Mig's World Wines first opened its doors in 1995 in a small pouch-sized shop in Ixelles. Miguel (aka Mig), a Belgian citizen born and brought up in Australia, was the creator of this Ali Baba cave. The shop was soon found too small and was moved to its present location on the Chaussée de Charleroi in 1999. These new premises were decorated by two o... f Miguel's talented artist friends, Olivier Damien and Philippe Cardoen. Miguel worked alone for a long time, until Régis -a lively young Frenchman- joined him in 2001. Régis stayed until 2004 at which point he flew towards new endeavors. That's when Lucy came in. Born in New York but raised in Paris and Brussels, Lucy studied oenology at the Ceria in Brussels and with the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) -unlike Miguel who is not very studious, and who is more self-taught! The workload at Mig's became too heavy for the two of them, and Xavier joined them in 2007. Born in Charleroi, Xavier is multilingual: he speaks French, Spanish, Italian, English and Dutch! He "fell into" wine when he was no taller than a small barrel and has a diploma in Viticulture & Oenology. He has 20 years of various experiences in the wine world (production, advice, teaching, tastings). Christian was hired in 2010 to reinforce the team. A few months later in 2011 he passed on the torch to Dorian another lively young Frenchman. Dorian - who returned to Brittany early 2013 - took care of most of the deliveries and gave us a helping hand in the shop thanks again, Dorian! So Christian is now back, picking up where he left off! Youll see him driving the van around and also helping out in the shop when hes not working on his cartoon drawing. Patrick Missotten graduated from the University of Suze-la-Rousse. A cheerful host, master in G&T, this hedonist from Antwerp speaks perfectly Dutch, French, Italian & English.
