As Im sure youre well aware, COVID-19 has been a stark illustration of the disparity in broadband capabilities in different cities and townships, Wright County and throughout the state. The Wright County Board of Commissioners has committed millions in American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding to improve and enhance the fiber grid in Wright County. The county is going to be applying for state and federal grant dollars to help make this project as robust as possible. A critical component of that is to gather as much data as we can to make informed decisions and let the state and federal grant agencies know we have a plan in place with buy-in from our cities, townships, businesses and school districts. To that end, the county has contracted with Design Nine, a firm that specializes in broadband synergy for communities like ours.
