Middlemount South, established in 2016 for the purchase of the Foxleigh coal mine, is 99.9% owned by ASX-listed Realm Resources. Middlemount South (70%) joins POSCO Australia (20%) and Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metals Australia (10%) in the Foxleigh Joint Venture. Middlemount South is the mine operator of the Foxleigh open cut coal mine which opened in 1999 and is located near Middlemount in Central Queensland. Foxleigh coal mine produces approximately 3.1Mtpa of Premium Low Volatile PCI coal.
