About Michigan Youth ChalleNGe Academy
The Michigan Youth Challenge Academy (MYCA) is a free program designed for at-risk youth aged 15 1/2 to 18, offering them the opportunity to graduate high school and achieve personal growth through a structured, military-like environment. Since its inception in 1999, MYCA has focused on developing leadership, job skills, physical fitness, and life coping skills over a five and a half month residential program followed by a 12-month post-residential phase. The program is a part of the National Guard and aims to help young adults realize their full potential without any obligation to join the military.
