Founded in 2001 by James Barnes, MettaCom has grown into an interdisciplinary team of IT professionals serving a variety of industries including legal, health care, and engineering firms with a broad range of IT infrastructure needs. James has over 20 years of experience in systems analysis, design, and administration; with a focus on legal, health... care, and public health applications. He also has over 10 years experience in a variety of start-up environments including hands on experience building out corporate infrastructure as well as with the full life-cycle in development of database driven web sites; from defining initial software and interface specifications through development, load testing, QA, and deployment in complex data center environments. Prior to forming MettaCom, James was the principal systems and network architect at Windom Health Enterprises during its startup phase in the early 90's. James then became Director of Information Technology Operations for HealthCentral.com, Inc. which was formed in 1997 by the merger of Windom Health Enterprises with Dean Edell Online. From 1997 to 2000 James was responsible for the design, deployment, and administration of the corporate computing, Internet computing, and telecommunications infrastructure as the organization grew from 20 employees in Berkeley, California to over 300 employees with corporate headquarters in Emeryville, California, and regional offices in 5 states.
