he Metro Cartage Company Inc. was formed by James Graham in Lincoln Park, Michigan, 1981. With a single van he delivered office supplies and copy paper for Xerox and AB Dick in the Detroit Metro area. Soon after he began hauling 55 gallon drums and skids of oil for Mobil Oil Corporation to their service stations. In 1984 the company was thriving; J... im acquired an account delivering non-perishable food items from a large distribution company located in central Ohio. The account required more warehousing, truckloads and pool distribution throughout the state of Michigan. The company was granted a 48 state Common Carrier Authority in 1985 and soon moved into a larger warehouse building a mile from the Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus, Michigan and officially changed its name to Metro Cartage Co. In 1986 the facility was a 24/7 365 day operation for Nippon Air, Flying Tigers, Ford Motor Company, along with several other customers. In 1990 Metro Cartage Co. had 35 employees, servicing an 8 state area in the Midwest, Metro Cartage has continued in the trucking industry for the next 23 years. His background includes truckload, freight brokering, air freight forwarding and freight expediting. In 2011 Jim relocated to Arizona to start Metro Cartage LLC. in 2012.
