Metro Calvary

Pastor Richard married his beautiful best friend, Valerie, on June 25, 1977. They have four amazing children: Deborah (and her husband Wells, son Ever and daughter Honor) lives in Brooklyn, New York. Sean (and his wife Erika) lives in Los Angeles, California. Ashley (and her husband Tommy) along with their youngest, Nathan, live in Costa Mesa, Cali... fornia. Richard is the founding pastor of Metro Calvary in Roseville, California. Richard surrendered his life to Jesus at the age of 22. As a new Christian, Richard grew up under the teaching of pastor Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa where he also attended the musicians fellowship led by Malcolm Wild (who was from Kirkby-in-Ashfield, England). Music opened the door for a lifelong involvement in missions especially in England. Richard was part of a band Malcolm Wild formed to preach the Gospel in his home country. In 1981 Malcolm moved to Florida to pastor a church in Merritt Island and Richard became the High School pastor at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. He reformed that band and began to take teams of High School students to carry on the work of evangelism in schools in the north of England as well as in Sydney, Australia. Out of those mission teams the Lord raised up a number of young men and women who became missionaries and pastors who planted churches in England, Europe and Brazil as well as churches in the U.S. that today send missionaries and plant churches around the world. Richard planted Metro Calvary in 2004 with this statement: A Passion for the Worship of God A Passion for the Word of God A Passion for the Mission of God. From the beginning, Metro has been involved with supporting missions and sending teams to Brazil and Great Britain. In the last few years their mission involvement has grown to include Mexico and Russia.
