It all started back in 1954, when the company Elektrosrbija from Kraljevo established a branch facility in uprija for production of transmission towers. After the establishment of the company Minel Belgrade and merging of Companies Elektrosrbija from Kraljevo and Termoelektro from Belgrade on 25.03.1970, the facility continued to work as an integra... l part of the new company. Within the SOUR Minel, the facility eventually grew into a factory of steel constructions. It very quickly achieved high ratings in manufacturing of transmission towers and in assembly of transmission lines. Together with Minel - Elektrogradnja it conquered the market in Serbia, in large part of Europe and in the Middle East. It leaves the Minel system on 26.11.1984 and continues to work as a factory of metal constructions Metal uprija, with basic activity being manufacturing of steel constructions and parts of constructions, protection of metal structures with hot-dip galvanizing, manufacturing of reinforcement meshes and thread guards. In period from 27.12.2000 until 18.07.2005 there were many transformations. The company changes from social ownership to private ownership and changes its form from social enterprise into a joint stock company, and then to a limited liability company. Today the company operates within the Maksim Group from Celje, under the name the Company for the production of metal constructions and tread guards Metal Ltd uprija. Founder and owner of 100% of the capital in the company is the company Maksim BG Ltd Inija, which is also the founder of the company Metal - Cinkara Ltd uprija and Metal - Nova Ltd uprija.
