Met Cares Foundation

Since 2015, the Met Cares Foundation has been working to drive advocacy, fuel positive change and encourage civic engagement by inspiring community ownership and improving and increasing educational opportunities throughout North Tulsa. Greenwood Leadership Academy exists to reimagine what is possible for students across North Tulsa. Rooted in the... values of Black excellence and the spirit of Black Wall Street, our Pre-K through 3rd grade school strives to educate the whole child through trauma-informed learning techniques, a strong and welcoming culture, deep parent engagement and an intentional partnership with our community. The Met Cares Foundation believes that the power of our families and our community is the greatest asset we have. That is why our engagement efforts ensure that their stories, ideas and concerns are at the center of driving our work. Together, we believe in our ability to build collective power to lead sustained efforts for change for North Tulsa. The PCAT (Parent Community Action Team) Fellowship unlike anything else offered in Tulsa. Started in 2018 as a way to bring community members with a deep commitment to North Tulsa together to deepen their grassroots organizing skills, the annual fellowship has grown to reach thousands of Tulsans through house meetings and our powerful Building Wakanda Summit.Read More
