The safety and welfare of children and young people who come into contact with our services is our priority. We work to ensure that the services we commission are effective, compassionate and listen to and engage with children and young people. Within the services we commission, all staff working with children, young people and adults who are paren... ts, are supervised, trained and competent to safeguard children and young people. These arrangements are outlined in the Merton CCG Safeguarding Statement 2016. Merton CCG has a designated nurse and doctor who take the strategic professional lead for safeguarding children and young people across the local health economy. We have a Safeguarding Children Policy in place and this is aligned to the London Children Child Protection Procedures 2016. Merton CCG is a member of the Merton Safeguarding Children Board. This is a multi-agency statutory partnership tasked with improving outcomes for children, monitoring and holding to account all public and private organisations with arrangements to safeguard children and young people (0 - 18 years). Merton CCG works closely with partner agencies - social services, police, education, housing and the voluntary sector - to ensure children and young people at risk are identified and action taken to safeguard them.
