Merrill P Thomas

Merrill P. Thomas has been in the shopping center development, leasing and management industry since 1977. During the first 15 years of his career, Thomas was with a regional shopping center developer, Folmar and Associates, starting out as a leasing agent and working up to Director of Leasing. During that tenure, he was involved in the leasing of... 47 retail projects throughout six Southeastern states. Thomas later went on to form his own commercial real estate development and brokerage company with an emphasis on retail development. Along with Merrill P. Thomas Co, he also represented Brandywine Real Estate Management Services in leasing and management services for 10 community size shopping centers located along the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to east Texas from 1993 - 1996. Currently, Thomas is involved with the leasing and management services for a multitude of specialty shopping centers, office/warehouses and freestanding retail buildings. Thomas also has an active commercial brokerage business providing third party sales and leasing services in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Over the years he has been involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has participated in five regional meetings as a speaker on various retail leasing topics. He's also an active member of the Mobile Area Association of Realtors. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2006 and is the past President of the 1,400 member association. In the recent past, Thomas chaired the Commercial Real Estate Exchange Club and Governmental Affairs committee. On a statewide level, Thomas currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Association of Realtors.
