Merool is a self contained holiday park on 63 acres of freehold land with 2 kilometres of absolute Murray River frontage! The park has a great selection of self-contained cabins and... caravan/camping sites to choose from and the park strives provide guests with an experience of the Murray River they will remember for ever. Merool was established in 1983, the land that is now occupied by the holiday park was once a horse stud and orchid. This land that boasts 2km of Murray River frontage is home to some of Australias native flora and fauna and allows guests to get up close and experience what the Murray River and region has to offer. The holiday park is large and hosts guests all year round in cabins and caravan/camping sites . Special events that draw guests to the park include the Southern 80 Ski Race, the Riverboats Music Festival, the Winter Blues Festival, the Flavours Food & Wine Festival and long weekends. Alongside these special events, the park accommodates families, business people, wedding guests, grey nomads and more on a daily basis. The Murray River is Australias longest river at 2,508 kilometres (1,558 mi) in length. The Murray rises in the Australian Alps, draining the western side of Australias highest mountains, and then meanders across Australias inland plains, forming the border between the states of New South Wales and Victoria as it flows to the northwest. It then turns south for its final 500 kilometres (310 mi) into South Australia, reaching the ocean at Lake Alexandrina. The twin towns of Echuca Moama are an easy two and a half hours drive from Melbourne. Its easy to explore the local attractions including the historic Port of Echuca and Wharf, which is recognised as one of Australias finest heritage icons and is home to the largest Paddlesteamer fleet in the world.
