Melrose Resources plc ("Melrose" or "the Company") is committed to striking a balance between its economic, health and safety, environmental and social responsibilities. The HSE and CSR Policies are reviewed on a periodic basis by the Melrose Board and are updated where necessary to ensure that they remain applicable given any changes in the Company's business environment or activities. The Policies are also communicated widely within the organisation to enable them to be consistently applied throughout the Company's operations and they are translated into Egyptian Arabic and Bulgarian. The responsibility for implementing the Policies primarily lies with each of the Company's employees, who also have an obligation to promote a corporate culture with a strong focus on HSE and CSR matters. At a country operating company level, HSE and CSR objectives and targets are set annually and performance is reviewed on a regular basis. Where appropriate, individual personal objectives may also include specific goals related to these areas. This helps the Company to maintain and continually improve its safety and environmental systems and performance. The Policies are supported by an HSE&S Management System and the Company's Corporate Governance framework. The HSE&S Management System provides guidelines on the overall objectives and performance standards to which the Company aspires but allows sufficient flexibility for each operating company to tailor its detailed procedures according to the local environment.
