Mekane Yesus Seminary

Mekane Yesus Seminary was established as a joint venture by three Lutheran Mission agencies; in cooperation with the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY). These were the Swedish Evangelical Mission (SEM), the German Hermansburg Mission (GHM) and the American Lutheran Mission (ALM) which were working with the Ethiopian Evangelical Churc... h Mekane Yesus (EECMY). Representatives of the church and missions inaugurated the institution in October 1960. The aim was as stated in the Vision/Mission of the church that says: "To train pastors for the ministry of the EECMY based on her doctrinal basis". More than 25 faculty members with minimum of an MA training are committed to provide you with biblically centered academic programs within a community that fosters personal maturity, spiritual growth and superior professional development. Our students are taught by academics who are leaders in their fields and active in all kinds of exciting research. They bring their subjects alive and enable students to develop a wide range of skills that can be used in their future career.
