Media Mania

Media Mania, a not-for-profit organisation based in Coventry, West Midlands. We are made up of youth and community workers, professional artists, freelancers and volunteers that support and develop people through creative arts. We believe that creative arts are a powerful tool that give people hope and bring people together in a positive way. for y... oung people to experience new and exciting activities, gain new skills and create cool stuff with creative arts. for people to take part in high quality creative arts programmes to develop their artistic talents and produce work that can be shared, performed and showcased. for young people not engaging in mainstream school provision or require work related learning experiences. Workshops can be provided for primary or secondary schools to support young people in achieving their Artsmark or Arts Award. are offered to young people giving them the opportunity to develop their skills as individuals and to work collaboratively with other young people sharing and contributing their ideas to develop a piece of music or create a short film. are arranged and organised with young people which gives them a goal and something to aim towards. Media Mania began in 2003 and was part funded by (NDC) New Deal for Communities and (ERDF) European Regeneration Development Fund. The project was initiated by young people in the Henley Ward of Coventry and was supported by Coventry City Council, Youth Services. The initial funding facilitated the development of a recording studio and video editing suite at The Venny in Wood End. Young people participating in the project have had the opportunity to develop their skills, abilities, experience and knowledge in creative arts to reach their potential.
