We are a small family owned business, based in Wellington New Zealand, and registered under the New Zealand Companies Office as a New Zealand Limited Company. Our business is quite young and we started this up in December 2015. Though our business is young our experience, military background and the love of all things military (including military h... istory) is what inspired us to make "our passion our profession". My name is Ianthi, I am the lead medal mounter and manage the business. I migrated to New Zealand from Sri Lanka and I am a third generation service woman. Both my dad and granddad served in the military and I guess I followed suit, I think I learned to march before I walked. My grandad was awarded the MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 1953 for outstanding Service in the Ceylon Army. These awards were announced on 30th December 1952 (ref, the fifth supplement to the London Gazette of Tuesday 30th, 1952), and these awards were the first New Year Honours since the accession of Queen Elizabeth II. Both my husband (who supports me in our business) and I were in active service in the military in Sri Lanka during the civil war, and we have seen many of our comrades fall. Since migrating to New Zealand we have both served in the NZDF in a civilian capacity and acquired an in depth knowledge in honors, awards and campaign medals. To us being able to restore a set of medals and or provide a replica set of medals is an honour and privilege as we have personally experienced what it takes to earn that medal, and how much it means to the person and the family.
