Meat Locker Editions is a not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to providing opportunities for underrepresented voices in the literary arts: writers aged 18-35, with particular focus on women in the same age bracket. We do so in the following ways: 1. Publish Canadian writers under the age of 35 to provide opportunities and support for emergin... g writers; 2. Provide special focus to young female writers, including publication opportunities, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities with other organizations devoted to increasing the visibility of women in the literary arts; 3. Create community by running and participating in workshops, panels, and collaborative endeavours with other arts and social organizations committed to independent culture; 4. Revive the book - go beyond conventional ways of book publishing by incorporating various art forms and mediums in book production, and embracing new forms of creation and distribution.
